About Laura Skelton
Laura Skelton studied a foundation diploma at Chelsea School of Art and a BA in painting at Winchester School of Art. Laura has recently moved from London and now lives and works in Jersey.
There are ongoing themes that come back like characters or spirits. These are a means to an end to make a painting. They are not the controlling force, that is always about the paint. Drawing is very important to the work, combining both drawing line and brush gesture and a relationship to colour that is vivid and bold.
