Farewell 2020. Long Live 2021.

Happy 2021

The parties were bigger. The pace was faster. The shows were broader. The buildings were higher, the morals were looser and the liquor was cheaper.

F Scott Fitzgerald ‘Great Gatsby’

This quote from ‘Great Gatsby’ describes everything that the Covid stricken 2020 was not, and what we now all long for. And remember how excited you were about 2020?

The beginning of a new decade, often compared with “the roaring 20’s” roared in deed, just not as expected. This oxymoronic year was cruelly kind. It has taught us to curb our enthusiasm, lower our expectations, appreciate the little things, care more about each other, and… that there is no better day than today to do the things you’ve been putting off.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years? ‘Possibly on the couch with a bag of chips, binge-watching Netflix.‘ Who answered this question correctly in 2015? How would you answer that question today?

It’s been a tough year, especially for artists. The COVID crisis hit hard at arts, culture, and the creative economy. There is a silver lining behind the dark clouds of COVID. When things couldn’t possibly get any worse, when you hit the rock bottom, you have nowhere to go but up!

Happy 2021! Let’s make great things happen!
